SBC December 13th - Humaira Ahmed, Founder and CEO of Locelle
Happy holidays everyone. It’s that time of year again and we might actually get some winter weather this week.
I’m so excited to announce our December 13th speaker! Please come and meet and listen to Peninsula based Humaira Ahmed, the Founder and CEO of Locelle (https://locelle.com/), a women only social networking platform that provides women with a safer and easier way to meet a friend, mentor, network. Powered by machine learning, their proprietary matching algorithm connects women based on interests, activities and location. Their mission is to get women off-line for real connections for a better life.
As women go through various life transitions – moving to a new city, career change, caring for a baby, new relationship status, coming back from maternity leave or illness – the need to make meaningful connections arises. The challenge typically is not being able to easily find and meet up with like-minded women who live nearby and share similar interests and activities. Locelle aims to change that.
Locelle is working with a handful of B.C. technology companies that wish to hire more women as part of their diversity and inclusion initiatives. These companies offer Locelle as an onboarding package to their female staff. “With Flytographer and RingPartner already on board, this is just the beginning of a social health movement,” said Ahmed.
As always, the meeting is held at 7am on the 2nd Thursday of every month at the Victoria Flying Club Dakota Café. Please join us on Thursday / December 13th / 7am and RSVP (john@harbourdigitalmedia.com) only if you plan on attending.
