SBC December 12th 2019 – Scott Phillips, CEO of Starfish Medical

Good morning SBC members! This month’s December 12th SBC meeting will feature Scott Phillips, the CEO of Starfish Medical (https://starfishmedical.com/). He was an early member and supporter of the Sidney Breakfast Club and we’re most honoured to have him speak to us as the final SBC speaker of the decade.

StarFish is Canada’s leading Medical Device Design service provider with a full complement of design, development, and manufacturing services in Victoria and Toronto. They successfully partner with innovative companies (both large and small) to create breakthrough products for a number of medical specialty areas.

Medical device product definition, technical engineering and product development use their proprietary Pathfinder™ process.   Prototype and volume production are delivered in an ISO 13485 certified facility with FDA registration and class 10,000 clean room capabilities.

Scott holds a degree in Engineering Physics from the University of British Columbia. Prior to starting StarFish, he worked in diverse areas such as lithium battery development and manufacturing, UV spectroscopy instrumentation and hi-fi audio speakers. Under his leadership StarFish has grown into a diverse professional organization with clients around the world and 100% focus on medical devices. Scott is a Chair of the LifeSciences British Columbia board, Fellow of The Canadian Academy of Engineering, winner of the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year™ 2017 Pacific Awards Technology category, 2017 recipient of the VIATEC Technology Champion award, and volunteers with Junior Achievement, Entrepreneurs Organization, and University of British Columbia.

As always, the meeting is held at 7am on the 2nd Thursday of every month at the Victoria Flying Club Dakota Café. Please join us on Thursday / December 12th / 7am and RSVP  john@harbourdigitalmedia.com if you plan on attending.
